Bring Back Play!!!

Today the ParticipACTION FUN MOBILE was at our school promoting the "Bring Back Play" campaign.  They want kids to step away from the TV, put down the iPads, iPhones and computer games and get outside for 60 minutes of play everyday.  We had an awesome time playing outside with them today.  There were sport wheelchairs to try out, soccer, basketball, hula hoops, skipping ropes, hop scotch and target practice with bean bags.  When our 35 minutes was up all the students were asking when we could go back again and play.  Click HERE to find out more about ParticipACTION and "Bring Back Play."

The Mixed Up Chameleon

Continuing on with our Eric Carle author study today, we read The Mixed Up Chameleon.  The mixed up chameleon wishes to be like others and his wishes come true.  He learns that it is best just to be himself.  If you've never read the story you can listen to it here.

After we read the story we used the Draw&Tell app to make our own versions.  Here are a few for you to see.  If you want to see more check our individual blogs.

Spring is in the air...

Today we painted these cherry blossom trees.  I think they turned out great!
On Tuesday we made our April Showers, Bring May Flowers Umbrellas/Tulips.  It looks like an umbrella but when you flip it up, it is a tulip.
