Field Trip

Today we went on a field trip to Aldor Acres Dairy Centre.  It was awesome!  We had so much fun!  We got to see cows get milked, make butter, hand milk a cow, and drink chocolate milk.  We also got to feed cows and baby goats.

Penguins, Penguins!!

On Monday our big buddies helped us to make plasticine penguins.

To finish our penguin unit we wrote penguin reports.  We had to answer six questions using full sentences.  We also made talking penguins.

Communities

In social studies we are talking about communities.  Today we talked about and compared three types of communities; city, suburb and farm.

Penguins!

We are learning about penguins!  On Monday our big buddies helped up to make these adorable penguins to hang from our ceiling.

Snowmen At Night!

On Wednesday we read Snowmen At Night by Caralyn Buchner.  It is a fun story that talks about the things snowmen might do at night while we are asleep.

Afterward we made snowmen of our own.  Check them out… 

Seasons!

When we returned from Winter Break, we learned about the seasons; SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, & WINTER!  We talked about the changes that happen during each season and the types of clothing we have to wear for each season.  We made weather windows showcasing our favourite seasons.

Kid Blog

Today we started our Kidblog accounts.  Our individual student blogs are like an online journal that we can share.  Today we just focused on getting some writing (typing) down. Next week will work on making sure we have an uppercase letter at the beginning of our sentence and a period at the end of our sentence.  We will also work on adding titles to our piece of writing.  You can check out our individual blogs by clicking the tab labelled "Individual Student Blogs."
