Fit Kids

Today was our first session of Fit Kids.  We usually get one session per month, where we get to go to the gym and have the grade seven leaders take us through some circuit training.  We use the resistance bands, balance boards, bosu balls, the ladder, skipping ropes and more.  Here are some photos of us having fun!

Today was a very exciting day!  We had a skype call with Kate Messner, the author of Marty McGuire.  We got to ask her questions about being an author and where she got the idea for Marty McGuire.  We all really enjoyed seeing and meeting Kate!

Halloween Howl

Today we took part in our school's annual Halloween Howl.  After recess we joined Mrs. Kohut's grade 3/4 class, Mrs. Warren's grade 3s, Mrs. Roblero's Grade 2s, and Mrs. LaRiviere's kindergartens in the gym where we participated in 7 different halloween relays.  Everyone loved the last one; we got to turn off the lights and then carry a giant glow in the dark spider to a glow in the dark web.  After lunch, we changed into our costumes and went to the gym for a costume parade.  After the parade, we danced to Looking for Dracula, the Macarena, the Hokey Pokey and the Chicken Dance.  Finally, we had a little party in our classroom to celebrate before going home.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

On Wednesday the PAC hosted a pumpkin carving contest.  Students had to carve or decorate their pumpkin at home and then bring it to school.  We had 9 students from our class bring pumpkins to school.  On Wednesday afternoon we got to go to the gym and see all the pumpkins lit up.  Unfortunately, Mrs. Morrison did not get any photos during that time.  But she did get photos of our pumpkins today before they went home.  Beatriz won 1st prize in the creative category and TJ won 3rd prize in the scary category.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch.  We had so much fun going on the hayride to pick our pumpkins, then exploring the hay maze and having snacks. After that we braved the haunted house, visited the chickens and learned about how pumpkins grow in the Education Center.  Before leaving we stopped to visit the goat palace and saw the 3 week old kids.  Did you know a baby goat is called a kid?
