Seasons!

When we returned from Winter Break, we learned about the seasons; SPRING, SUMMER, FALL, & WINTER!  We talked about the changes that happen during each season and the types of clothing we have to wear for each season.  We made weather windows showcasing our favourite seasons.

Kid Blog

Today we started our Kidblog accounts.  Our individual student blogs are like an online journal that we can share.  Today we just focused on getting some writing (typing) down. Next week will work on making sure we have an uppercase letter at the beginning of our sentence and a period at the end of our sentence.  We will also work on adding titles to our piece of writing.  You can check out our individual blogs by clicking the tab labelled "Individual Student Blogs."

The Mitten

Jan Brett is our author for Author Study this month.  We read The Mitten on Wednesday.  In the story a boy named Nikki loses his snow white mitten.  The mitten becomes home to many animals including a rabbit, a fox, a bear, a badger, an owl, and a mouse until the bear sneezes and all the animals go flying out of the mitten.  We made our own mittens that animals could crawl into.  Check them out...

Gingerbread Glyph

We made gingerbread men glyphs with our big buddies.  Do you know what a glyph is?  It is a picture that tells something special about you.

Piet Mondrian Art

We looked at another artist, Piet Mondrian and created art based on one of his pieces.

We also learned about the 3 primary colours.  Do you know what the three primary colours are?
