Dragons!

This week our letter of the week is Dd.  Dd is for DRAGON!  With Chinese New Year approaching next Monday and it being the year of the dragon, I thought it would be very appropriate to focus on dragons this week.  We started our morning by brainstorming words that begin with Dd (We do this every Monday morning for our new letter of the week).  The students came up with a very impressive list (They come up with these words all on their own). Here is our list...

Then we read our new poem and put it into our poetry duotang.   This is our new poem...
I'm a Little Dragon
I'm a little dragon, strong and stout.
Here is my tail and here is my snout.
If you get me upset, you better watch out!
I'll give you something to shout about!

After recess we brainstormed about dragons. We had seven questions that we thought about while we were brainstorming. These are two charts we made.

Check back later in the week to see what else we do!
