More dragons...

Today we all wrote dragon poems.  First, we had to brainstorm together all the things that dragon can and cannot do.  These are the things we thought dragons could do...
- breathe fire
- eat castles
- fly
- stomp
- eat clothes
- get angry
- eat people
- see above the clouds
- fly around the world in 5 seconds  (If you are familiar with Robert Munsch's The Paper Bag Princess you will know where we got this idea from.)
These are the things we thought dragons could not do...
- dance
- fit through a door
- talk
- use the computer
- go in a bouncy castle
After our brainstorming we each made our own dragon poem.  Here they are!  It is difficult to read some because of the quality of the computer, but they look fantastic when you see then!

  1. Hello there division 21! It's so cool to hear about all the cool things that dragons do! I think a really cool dragon might be able to dance. Maybe someone will write a poem about Darla the dancing dragon? Looking forward to hearing about all the things you learn about dragons. I imagine dragons would be really colourful with shiny scales. I think they would talk with a British accent too.

  2. Thank you for commenting on our blog. We are enjoying learning about dragons. We thought dragons would be green with spikes and tails. We also thought they would breathe fire. Please check back soon!

  3. Dear division 21. Why do you think dragons are green? Could they be pink with purple polka dots? I think dragons would breathe sparkles. I think that darla the dancing dragon would dance to the sharing song by jack Johnson.

  4. Division 21 are you sure you're not in grade one? That writing doesn't look like it came from a kindergarten class. We love your writing and your drawings. Was it hard for you to do?

  5. We saw a green dragon in a book called the Paper Bag Princess which is why we believe they are green. Maybe they could be pink with polka dots, but we've never seen one like that. We also haven't seen one breathing sparkles, but only breathing fire.

  6. Dear Divison 16,
Some of us thought it was hard to create the dragon poems and some of us thought it was easy. Thank you for the compliment, we try very hard to do our best work all the time.
