Today Mrs. Morrison told us that we would be taking part in the Global Read Aloud project this year. We talked about the ways we would be connecting with other classes; through google hangout, skype and blogging. She told us the title of the book was Marty McGuire and asked us if we thought Marty was a boy or a girl? Without having any more information than the title, 14 of us thought Marty was a boy and 4 of us thought Marty was a girl. After that she gave us two pieces of information about Marty. 1.) Marty is in grade three. 2.) Marty likes to catch frogs. Then, she asked the same question - is Marty a boy or a girl? This time 11 people thought Marty was a boy and 7 people thought Marty was a girl. Tomorrow we start the book.
